地域へと水を配る円形の分水と、芝生の広場に面した地域住民のためのパブリックスペース。その散歩道に面してレンガ敷きの土間空間を設け、まちと暮らしをやわらかく繋ぐ縁側のような場を設けた。腰を下ろし、立ち話を交わす——そんな何気ない日常の風景のなかに、ささやかな交流が自然と生まれることを意図した。

それぞれの居場所には、季節の移ろいを映す桜と水の気配を取り込み、まち、水辺、桜の木々へと視線がほどけていく構成とした。風景との距離が少しずつ変化するなかで、住まう人が風景に身を預け、時間の流れとともに暮らす。そのような「暮らしの器」となることを目指した。

A circular water divider that distributes water to the surrounding area, and a public space for local residents facing a lawn plaza. Along the pedestrian path, a brick-paved earthen-floor space was created as an engawa-like place that gently connects the town and everyday life. It is intended to foster small, spontaneous moments of interaction within ordinary daily scenes—people sitting down, pausing, and exchanging a few words.

Each place within the house incorporates the presence of water and cherry trees that reflect the changing seasons, with views gradually unfolding toward the town, the waterside, and the rows of cherry trees. As the distance to the landscape subtly shifts, residents entrust themselves to the scenery and live with the passage of time. The house aims to become such a “vessel for living.”
